Making the Shift was an amazing group of ladies led by amazing coach Terra. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking at getting their nutrition in check and wanting to get a non diet style program to get healthy again. Terra provided so many tools to help with my health journey to get myself on the right track. She provided so much information and advice from nutrition, meal preparation and workouts. Even if you couldn’t or just didn’t work out this program can still help you in your health journey. There was so much support, advice and inspiration from all the ladies. When one was struggling we picked each other up and supported each other. Even though I hadn’t met these lovely ladies in person I feel I have found connections with them all that will last a life time. I will definitely refer other ladies to this program who are looking for that one of kind program that will help you with your health/fitness journey!! I’m also going to do a Completed Vision board so I can see how much I have accomplished along the way to help me with my consistency and motivation. I just finished the 6 week Making the Shift Challenge with Terra Dawn and it was one of the most beneficial experiences of my life. I had been a long time dieter on another program in which I would be successful for a length of time, only to slip into old habits and patterns again. My mindset was never in a good place, as I would obsess over food and points constantly. My nutrition was terrible. I ate so much processed foods because it was easy to count. My success or failure was based solely on the number I saw on the scale each week. Never again. I learned that I was doing everything to self-sabotage in the past. Thanks to Terra, I understand nutrition so much more. I have learned to fuel my body with delicious food. I know what my body needs to be healthy. I have discovered ways to change out bad habits for healthy habits. And I understand that mindset is so important in this journey. I know longer judge my success by a number on a scale. I am healthier, stronger, and happier at 48 than I have ever been in my 20’s or 30’s. If you are considering this course, I encourage you to take a chance and do it. You will not regret the knowledge you gain from it. You won’t regret what you lose from it either. Bad habits? An unhealthy relationship with food? Excess weight? What do you have to lose?

"I loved this group knowing it was only five days I didn’t feel stressed about it It allowed me to have someone to be accountable to. I started tracking my food and started working out which I needed a kick in the ass to get going this time . This was just what I needed in many ways . Also listening to other women in different circumstances was helpful Was reassuring that many of us don’t have it all together . But we still go forward . Making the Shift is so worthwhile and money well spent. It gives you the tools to invest time and effort in yourself. I went into this program half-heartedly because I was pretty ill, but, I still got the knowledge of what is important. It’s definitely not the scale. It’s what you put in your mouth that truly counts and the healthy habits you incorporate to achieve your success. If you are on the fence about Making The Shift, don’t be! Just do it. You will be glad you did!

Terra is an amazing trainer. The best that I have ever had. I have some health issues as well as knee and back issues along with arthritis and we have been able to adapt my workouts accordingly. Covid took a toll on me. To be honest, not paying attention to my heath way before Covid had taken a toll on me. Fitness was always an afterthought or something I would dip my toe into whenever I wasn’t feeling well or when I wasn’t feeling good about myself. I’d jump in, and when I started feeling better or my mood had changed, I would wade back out of the pool. Three months into Covid, after being sent home to work, I was watching NetFlix and thought I was resting my drink on the pillow I often set on my lap – partially to make me comfortable and mostly so I wouldn’t have to look at my gut. I noticed my drink wasn’t on my pillow, but on the fat I had accumulated. I wasn’t happy with what I had become (again), but this time I made a decision – I was going to get back in shape and I was going to stay there. I wanted this for lots of reasons, but the biggest was feeling good about me and wanting to live my life feeling well. I just didn’t know how. I knew I needed some help, but where could I find it?!I started searching and I stumbled upon Terra – she changed my life. That may sound trite, but she really did. How did she help? I’ll list some pretty important items, but it doesn’t speak to the intangibles. She is a motivator, not a humiliator. She looked at me as an individual and went about putting together a program that fit my lifestyle. It started with training routines that were challenging and made me want to get to the gym (or get at it from home). I then started asking about my diet. My thinking was if I’m going to be putting in the work I’d sure like to know I’m putting the right fuel in the tank. Terra tailored this to my needs and goals. Pounds started melting away, lean mass started to accumulate and I started feeling way better about me – that was my goal! It didn’t stop there. Our running joke is how inflexible I am which she would always counter with “you need to gain flexibility for quality of life and to meet your fitness goals”. I would dismiss this every time until my back “went out”. I had done all the work, ate all the right food, but I was on my back for two weeks. I was missing the gym and worried about losing all the gains I had made and drifting back into my old habits. What did Terra do when I called her with my concerns? Within a week she had tailored my plan for my recovery AND she put together a stretching plan to incorporate into my wellness. I groaned, and started following her lead. I’m only 3 weeks into my recovery, but I’m feeling strong again. I’m feeling pain free. I’m feeling like the plan that Terra put together will continue to help me be happy with who I see in the mirror. That the person I see in the mirror will be able to play with his grandkids someday….and maybe be able to race them around the playground. I’m fit, I’m happy and I’m motivated. Thanks Terra! PS: This lady knows what self-improvement means. Mind, body and soul. I will trust her with either any day
Terra has been in the Human Services Industry for over 20 years - Her Certification in Rehabilitative Services, with experience varying from, working with At Risk Families & Youth, to Running/Coaching/Judging with Women's Gymnastics, To working in the Financial Field, managing an administration departments. There hasn't been a single line of work, that hasn't allowed her to work with People
Terra's work within THIS industry has been non stop, as she stepped into all these roles, knowing and exemplifying her Passion to Inspire Others to be the best they could be!
Terra started her work as a "Habit Transformation Coach" in 2017, which also allowed her to travel to Houston to speak on the topic of Time Management. While leading classes to help with "Time Management", which really was about setting boundaries and the habits her clients engaged in, such as self sabotage, procrastination, and other self defeating behaviors, that kept her clients from more of what they wanted in their life....
MORE TIME, FREEDOM & Feeling like they weren't going 100 miles an hour!
At the time, Terra was working 6 part time jobs, a single mom of 2 at home, and one in the military. She KNEW what it was to manage her time - and she thrived on helping others figure it out, utilizing a number of methods to help each individual identify what would work for them!
Terra also knew, with being in the Health & Wellness field, that a lot of what her clients did, came from deeper struggles from years past - and this is where she transformed her desire, from a "Health & Wellness coach" to specialize in Habit Transformation & Personal Training - another field where habits and discipline play a large role in the health of the mind, heart and body
To date, her clients have been able to find freedom, through the tools taught, the hurts healed and the new habits implemented to optimize their world with freedom and happiness and passion they hadn't really experiencing before!
